Eligibility and amounts change, so check the current grants published on GOV.UK before you order equipment, and tell us if you are claiming so the paperwork is right first time.

Can older properties and boards take an EV charger?

A charger is a continuous, heavy load, which is exactly the condition that exposes a tired installation. Where the existing board has no spare ways or no RCD protection we will quote a consumer unit upgrade alongside the charge point. If the wiring itself is at the end of its life, an EICR will confirm it before you spend money on a charger feeding a circuit that cannot support it.
