Older properties and boards
A charger is a continuous, heavy load, which is exactly the condition that exposes a tired installation. Where the existing board has no spare ways or no RCD protection we will quote a consumer unit upgrade alongside the charge point. If the wiring itself is at the end of its life, an EICR will confirm it before you spend money on a charger feeding a circuit that cannot support it.
